Working Principle

Application Scenarios

Overhead distribution systems are rapidly migrating to underground systems because the latter eliminates the need for poles and/or robust structures to support transformers.

This results in improved open space, enhanced safety, and reduced visual pollution, as overhead cables and their associated installation accessories are also removed.

However, there are situations where surface transformer installation is not feasible due to limited space for pedestrian or general traffic. In these cases, the alternative of installing transformers in underground vaults arises.

These underground vaulted transformers require specific considerations due to risks such as flooding, leading to the development of submersible transformers.

Submersible transformers are designed to operate underground and in water-immersed conditions.
